Open Question: Land Rover Discovery Help!!?

My 1995 Land Rover Discovery has a rattling sound that seems to come from underneath about mid-way. I was told originally that the exhaust was the trouble however it only does it when it is in park at idle. once in gear or revved stops completely. hoping it is not a problem with slip clutch or transmission.
